We are always and actively looking for good new books to publish on our expanding list and wish especially to encourage new/first-time authors.

But before you submit your book or proposal you may find it helpful to read our guidelines. This could save you time and trouble and an avoidable rejection.

We do not accept multiple submissions. This is because we have a standard contract and we do not enter into any form of auction. PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT ANYTHING TO US IF IT IS OUT ON OFFER WITH ANY OTHER PUBLISHING HOUSE.
We do not accept any form of pitch by telephone so please do not ring us with your book proposal.

FICTION

If you are submitting a novel please send us the FIRST FOUR CHAPTERS only in the first instance. Please send as a WORD file only (.doc. We cannot read Mac files, notepad or rtf.) and please ensure that your file is NAMED with TITLE and AUTHOR`S NAME. If it is labelled ‘Novel’ or ‘First 4 Chapters’ it could easily become lost in our system.

We do not publish Fantasy, Science Fiction, Chick Lit, Erotica, Light Romance or short stories.

CHILDREN`S BOOKS

We are interested in stories for ages 3-12. We also welcome submissions from ILLUSTRATORS who have either written and illustrated their own stories or want to submit portfolios of their illustrations only. We may not have a book that would suit your style immediately but if we like your work we will keep your name on our list of illustrators and contact you if/when something that might suit your style comes up.

We do not publish Board Books, Pop-up Books, Teenage or Crossover Fiction.

NON-FICTION

We receive a lot of memoirs and family histories which may well be of interest to a small circle of the writer`s friends and relatives but are unlikely to be so to the general public. We are unlikely to be interested in this sort of book unless it tells a quite exceptional story.

We not publish the following.

• Cartoons
• Art Books
• Text Books
• Sports Books.
